April 2017

Current TV projects include ‘Homestead Rescue Series 2′ – a major series commissioned by the Discovery Channel (this follows on from scoring the first series shown earlier this year), a new series ‘Confessions of a Junior Doctor’ for Channel 4, a documentary feature film ‘Oink’ and the latest series of ‘Unreported World’ (previously having scored Series 24-32). An album of Library Music ‘Musical Reflections’ for De Wolfe Music has recently been released  and another one is being prepared for release later this year. Sony have recently released an album of cello and piano music on their ‘Juice’ label.

His commission ‘Stalker’ for the Chamber Group ‘Trifarious’ will be performed again on 3/5/17 at Surrey University. Piano Star, a new collection of pieces published by ABRSM (with a large number by Edmund) is now out. The Oxford Book of Flexible Anthems (OUP) with two anthems by Edmund was recently published.

December 2016

‘Elizabeth at 90 – a Family Tribute’ is being shown again on BBC 1 on Sunday 18th December at 2.10pm. The music was nominated for an RTS Craft and Design Award (best score) in November. ‘The Marigolds on Tour’ was shown over the Christmas period on BBC 2.

October 2016

The London Premiere of Edmund’s commission for the London Gay Men’s Chorus (part of the Shame Chorus Project) was recently premiered alongside other composers (including Billy Bragg) at the London Irish Centre. His commission ‘Stalker’ for the Chamber Group ‘Trifarious’ will be premiered early next year. After composing the winning entry last year, Edmund was a finalist in this year’s Hendrix Candelight Carol Competition, Arkansas, USA. Piano Star, a new collection of pieces published by ABRSM (with a large number by Edmund) is now out.

September 2016

Edmund’s third album for De Wolfe will be released later this month. An album of emotional music for cello and piano will be released later this year by Sony.

Edmund’s commission for the London Gay Men’s Chorus (part of the Shame Chorus Project) will be premiered alongside other composers including Billy Bragg at the B-Side Festival this month and then taken on tour (the London premiere will be on 8 October at the London Irish Centre). He has also been commissioned to compose a piece for the Chamber Group ‘Trifarious’ which will be premiered early next year.

He is about to start composing the music for a new pod cast of readings from the letters of Christopher Isherwood. The production will star Alan Cumming and Simon Callow.

He recently scored a documentary feature film ‘Revolution’ with BAFTA winning director Margy Kinmonth which will be released internationally in November. Future projects include scoring the second series of ‘The Real Marigold Hotel’ (BBC), ‘The Last Tango in…’ (BBC), a Dispatches film and another album release by De Wolfe Production Library.

‘Christmas Time’ will be published by OUP in 2017. OUP are also publishing two of his anthems next year.

March 2016

Edmund has won second Prize in the International Competition of Choral Composition ‘Kromatika 2015′ (from 159 entrants).

‘May the road rise up to meet you’ and ‘O Nata Lux’ will be published by OUP in their Flexible Anthem Collection.

Edmund is writing some piano pieces for the forthcoming ABRSM publication ‘Piano Star’.

The Twiolins will be premiering Edmund’s piece ‘Waltz Diabolique’ in their next season of concerts this year.

December 2015

Edmund has won First Prize in the 29th Annual Seasonal Song writing Competition for ‘Everywhere, everywhere Christmas tonight’ run by The Amadeus Choir, Toronto.

Selected out of 85 entries, ‘A Babe is born’ has been named as one of the finalists’ pieces in the Ray Bardsley Carol Competition. The piece will be performed by The Dorking Choral Society in front of an audience including Judith Weir, Master of the Queen’s Music and Stephen Jackson, Director of the BBC Symphony Chorus on Friday 18th December 2015 at 7.30pm in St. Joseph’s Church, Dorking, Surrey, Great Britain, RH4 3DL.

Edmund has won the Ely Consort Advent Composing Competition with his piece ‘Jesus Christ the Apple Tree’. The piece will be premiered in Ely Cathedral on 28 November.

Edmund has won the Hendrix Carol Composition Competition. Selected from 85 entries, his ‘A Christmas Lullaby’ will be premiered in Arkansas, USA, in December.

September 2015

Edmund has been appointed Visiting Lecturer in Composition for the Moving Image at City University.

Edmund has won the Renée B. Fisher Composer Award for his piece ‘The Strath’. The piece will be performed on 14 May 2016 in New Haven, Connecticut.

An album of Library Music for piano quintet, entitled ‘Life and Times’ has recently been released by De Wolfe Music. He is finalising a second album ‘Culture and History: Eastern Europe’ which will be released by them later this year.

Stainer and Bell have published a collection of short pieces for clarinet and piano ‘My Family and Other Animals’. You can buy it here. They have previously published five of Edmund’s choral pieces in a new catalogue entitled Choral Now.
